Legal-Schmeagle

After a nudge from the Linux Link Tech Show guys today, it became rather apparent that I should post something, (anything!) on the site here in regards to our absence.

I won't bother to attempt to make promises that we'll podcast soon, or that there is a show in the works or anything like that because it's just not true. We don't have a show in the works and we're very likely not going to podcast again any time soon. I would be very surprised, in fact, if we produced another episode before July.

For those of you who have been listening to the show, the reason is obvious. We bought a century home last October and have been madly renovating it over the winter to open as a Bed and Breakfast this summer. Well, we're near the end game now and it looks like we're actually going to open within the next 6 weeks or so. The workload, however, is not diminishing. We're not doing wussy renovations like painting the walls (although the walls are being painted) we're doing things like making two complete new ensuite bathrooms in the bedrooms, running new electrical circuits to the rooms to handle the fridges and fireplaces, and excavating the front yard to make a suitable sized parking lot. Our house is a construction zone; it has been all winter and will remain so for another month. Then we have to hunker down and do all of the 'minor' stuff like the website, brochures, business cards, etc all the while getting our stuff together for the various inspections and licenses we need.

To make an already too long story short, we just don't have the couple of hours a week it takes to put a show together these days. Hopefully, things will return to some semblance of normalcy after we open and we'll have time to return to the things we enjoy like podcasting, but I'm not able to pin down exactly when that will happen.

So, if you're interested in what we're doing when we surface again, it costs you nothing to leave us in your feed.

Thanks,

J & K
